Profile Setup Answers

Do I have to enter all information requested in the profile section?

No. The only information required in the profile section is: First name, Last name, Email, Phone number, Emergency First name, Emergency Last name, and Emergency phone number.

Having trouble moving past the profile set-up page, what should I do?

This is most likely because there is some required profile info that has not been entered. Please confirm that all required fields are filled. (Refer to the FAQ for required info)

Can anyone see my profile information?

The only people that can see your profile are the receivers of your Incident Alert. Also, if you belong to an Organization, the Administrators of that Organization have access to your profile. You can review our Privacy Policy for more info.

Can I download SafeFi mobile app to my IPad?

How many personal contacts can be added to my profile?

At this time, only 1 personal contact can be added to your profile

Using the App Answers

How do I use the SafeFi mobile safety app?

When you first login to the app, you will be presented with an in-app tutorial that will explain the main features of the app and how to use them. You can also review the SafeFi Mobile app user manual here.

What will my emergency contact see when I launch an alert?

When launching an alert from the SafeFi app, your profile info, live gps location, and emergency type are sent to your emergency contact.

How does Timer Mode work?

Timer Mode allows you to set an emergency-timer during a potentially dangerous or uncomfortable situation. Once you start the timer, it will continue to countdown even if you have your phone locked. Once the timer reaches zero, an emergency alert will be started.

What should I do if I have started Timer Mode and am no longer in danger?

If you are no longer in a dangerous or uncomfortable situation, simply open the SafeFi app to the Timer Mode screen and press the “Stop” button. This will cancel the timer and an alert will not be started.

Does SafeFi work only work on WiFi?

An internet connection is required for SafeFi to properly work. This can be from WiFi or your phones cellular data plan. However, WiFi does help SafeFi get a more accurate location during an active alert so it is recommend to keep WiFi on.

When should I use the SafeFi app?

You can use the SafeFi app when you are in a dangerous or uncomfortable situation where you would need to reach out to someone else for assistance. The SafeFi app will inform others that you are in need of assistance and provide them with the appropriate information to assist you.

How does SafeFi find and track my location?

SafeFi uses a combination of GPS, WiFi, and cellular signal to pinpoint and track your location during an active alert.

What happens if I launch an alert by mistake?

SafeFi will notify you that an alert has started by vibrating the phone. Once an alert is started, a 10 second countdown begins before the alert message is actually sent out. During those 10 seconds, you have the ability to abort the alert from within the SafeFi app.

How does the report suspicious activity feature work?

The report suspicious activity feature sends information about a suspicious activity you have observed to your emergency contact and Incident Receiver(s). This information can include: a picture, description, and location of the activity.

How do I report a suspicious activity?

  • From the Home screen, tap the “Report” button.
  • The Report Suspicious Activity screen will open.
  • Add a description of the suspicious activity
  • Confirm your location is correct
  • (Optional) add a picture and details of your location
  • Tap the “Submit” button

What happens if my screen locks while I am sending an alert?

The SafeFi app is capable of working even if your phone is locked. In the instance of your phone’s screen locking while an alert is being sent out, the SafeFi app will continue working as normal and the alert will still be sent out.

Will the SafeFi app drain my battery life?

The app uses your device GPS, cellular and WiFi radios during an incident to track your location. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

How to cancel an Emergency Alert?

SNAPP Answers

What is SNAPP?

SNAPP is our patented feature of being able to initiate an alert in the SafeFi app without needing to unlock your phone. Simply click the power button on your phone multiple times and an alert will be initiated in the SafeFi app. This will work even if your phone has a secure lock screen (password, pattern, fingerprint, etc.).

How many times do I have to press the power button to launch SNAPP?

The number of presses required to launch SNAPP can vary depending on the type of phone you have. Therefore, it is recommended to repeatedly press the power button until you feel the phone vibrate, which is an indication that SNAPP has successfully launched.

How can I test SNAPP?

Go to SNAPP Settings in the SafeFi app and press the “Test SNAPP” button. This will navigate you to SNAPP Test Mode where you can test the SNAPP feature without activating an Alert.

SNAPP is activating unexpectedly/unintentionally

Your SNAPP sensitivity may be set too high for your phone. Some phones activate SNAPP more easily than others and can cause alerts to activate unexpectedly/unintentionally. If this is happening, you should change SNAPP to a lower sensitivity.

What is SNAPP sensitivity?

This feature allows a user to customize how sensitive their device is for activating SNAPP. Changing to higher sensitivity will give a longer time span required between button presses, and a lower sensitivity will give a shorter time span required between button presses.

Text-To-911 Answers

What is Text-To-911?

Text-to-911 is the ability to send a text message to reach 911 emergency call takers from your mobile phone or device. Text-to-911 is currently only available in certain markets where 911 call centers.

How will I know if Text-To-911 is available in my area?

SafeFi will automatically determine if you are in an area that supports Text-To-911 whenever you start an Active Alert.

Will Text-To-911 only work for the original location I enter?

No. This original location is just used to determine if Text-to-911 is available in your current location before an Active Alert is started. Whenever you start an Active Alert, the Text-To-911 availability will be checked again based on your GPS location during the Active Alert.

What will 911 receive if I use the Text-to-911 feature?

The SafeFi app will load an SMS message with your User Profile information, Active Alert details, Location/Address details, and any additional info present on the Text-To-911 screen. This info also includes a link for responders to follow your real-time location during the Active Alert.

What happens if Text-to-911 is not available in my area?

If the user is not in an area where Text-to-911 is available during an Active Alert, a warning dialogue will appear to inform the user of this. This dialogue will give the user the option to either call 911 or the “Send Anyway”, which will allow the user to attempt to send the SMS to 911. If this option is selected, the SMS will also be sent to the user’s emergency contact.
